American Idol's DeMato rebutes drug charges

Former American Idol finalist Julia DeMato has pleaded not guilty to drug possession charges, stemming from her 4 December arrest.
The singer, 26, appeared in Connecticut's Danbury Superior Court on Friday morning (Dec. 16) to answer to the charges levelled against her, reports MTV News.
DeMato, was arrested in a Brookfield, Connecticut, parking lot and charged with possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than four ounces (0.12 kilograms) of marijuana. She is due back in court on 12 January.
